Now that the results have been announced for 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th Semester B.E and 2nd to 9th Semester B.Arch., and probably results will be announced for 3rd and 4th semester B.E on 3rd or 4th FEB 2016( which we shall notify on the VTU campus app as soon as we have confirmed information.) Most of you all won't be satisfied with the marks you've obtained and hence would want to apply for revaluation.
I've seen some students gets double the marks after revaluation, also VTU has a rule that they will refund 50% of the revaluation fees for each subject that a student secures 15 marks or more after revaluation, though many students don't get the refund, and also there are some Grace marks Rules.
Recently a New Revaluation Rule was announced for CBCS Scheme i.e applicable for those students admitted to VTU university for the academic year 2015-16. And this rule states that, whatever be the new marks after revaluation will be considered final.

BUT
THERE IS NO CHANGES TO REVALUATION RULES FOR THE 2010 SCHEME STUDENTS
THAT IS, MARKS WON'T REDUCE AFTER REVALUATION, IT WILL EITHER INCREASE OR STAY THE SAME.
Many Students of the 2010 Scheme are concerned that their marks might reduce after revaluation, but this is not true, I repeat, Revaluation Rules have not changed for students admitted under VTU university before the academic year 2015-16. That is, Students Marks won't reduce, I hope this clarifies everything, and you can now fearlessly apply for revaluation!
